This event was one of the most amazing things we have been able to be apart of ... The entire event was so much fun and ended with an awesome dinner and a Lyle Lovett concert.... What an incredible event all these volunteers put together..... What an incredible Make A Wish fund raiser.... We thank everyone for making it such a wonderful day for us.....

Celebrity Slide Part 1

This was an absolute blast....

We arrive and meet our tour guide Meaghan... She was fantastic, she lead or followed us around all day, and with out her we would have easily got lost in that complex, or trampled by horses.. But our Meaghan kept great tabs on us.... (photo of Lane and Meaghan working on a horseshoe ornament) This is the press room where we along with the other families met our Celebrities and reporters got there interviews... Lane chillin out with Cody Lamert (Lane's Celeb), JW Hart, Adriano Moraes... Famous Bull Riders.... Whoot.... Lane is a HUGE fan of the movie 8 Seconds (he has watched it like 50-60 times no joke.... So meeting Cody Lambert (who traveled the rodeo circuit with Lane Frost, and invented the vest after Lane's death) was huge for my Lane.. He is still talking about Cody Lambert and Trainer Casey Hinton everyday.... Problem is now he wants to REALLY ride a bull.. no more pretending.... lol... I think we may be in trouble...lol

The Celebrities.... Lane was given this awesome Belt Buckle which prolly weighs as much as him..lol He loves it...All the wonderful autographs Lane received... All the bull riders also signed his ChapsThey were so amazing to all the Make a Wish kids... It was unbelievable everything they did... They gave each child a full outfit, hat, two bags ( one was embroidered) a belt and belt buckle, gloves, calendar, and many more items... Cody gave Lane a bull riding movie, and a PBR hat which he sign, and three more hats to my husband which made my husbands day believe me...

Our Angel Casey....

This is Casey....

We got to meet Casey for the first time at the Celebrity Slide.... For those who don't know her, yes she is a Celebrity... She is an Angel.... This wonderful young women chose to adopt Lane's Wish. She has some wonderful ideas to help raise money for Make a Wish, and Lanes Wish... I was so impressed with her huge heart, and even more impressed when we were able to meet her in person... I am so happy she came to the Celebrity Slide and we cant wait to build a life long friendship with her... She is an inspiration to us all...... She been following us on blogger and we are excited to follow her as she ventures through this journey.... We are sooooo excited.... And truly grateful to have Casey in our lives....

Oh and just so you know, we were totally not expecting her to bring Lane Christmas gifts which he overheard "he didn't have to wait to open then" so we convinced him to at least wait until we got home... So half asleep, at what time I am not even sure, he dug in.... and Wow... Casey you were way too generous....

He has eaten candy and played with all his toys all weekend long, and is still playing with it as I type... This silly putty is now twisted to red and green candy canes.... He snuck a few extra of the days before Christmas countdown (as too hurry Christmas along hehe) and he watched the Grinch movie twice now... Gosh I love that movie.... and we ALL have played with the ball toss (totally fun) and the Ski Ball.... This is a REALLY FUN GAME..... of course he keeps beating me :(......

Seriously everyone here has gotten in on this game.... fun fun game....

Casey thank you so much for being apart of our family... We were so happy you joined us at the Celebrity Slide and Thank You so much for your wonderful gifts... You are truly an Angel...

ORDER OF COMPETITION ANNOUNCED
Oklahoma City, OK – November 29, 2009 – Celebrities and bull riders are gearing up to let the dirt fly as they pilot champion reining horses in the 4R Performance Horses Celebrity Slide benefitting Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Oklahoma on December 4 at the Oklahoma State Fair Arena at 6 pm! The Reining Horse Sports Foundation (RHSF) brings this event to the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) Futurity & Adequan® North American Affiliate Championship Show for the third year. The newest edition to the line up is Sgt. Danny New, a member of the Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command. RHSF is honored to have a member of the military represent the men and women who have dedicated their lives to protect our country.

“I am proud to support this fund raiser for the Make-A-Wish Foundation® because childhood is a sacred and blessed time that should be filled with fantasy and dreams. Children facing life-threatening illnesses face reality and adulthood much too soon. I admire how the foundation is brings joy and the fulfillment of dreams back into their lives allows them to regain some of their childhood,” Sgt. New commented after joining the list of celebrities.
The composition of team and the order of competition are set for Friday’s event. Each child is paired with an NRHA Professional who will assist in coaching their celebrity team mate. The teams and order of go are shown below.

Tickets to the VIP event may be purchased from the Foundation through RHSF Coordinator Krissy Colbath for $100 each (limited tickets available).
So, get ready for a nail-biting, edge-of-your-seat event and join us for an evening of excitement and help make some worthy youngsters’ “wishes come true”.
