STUFF THE STOCKING 2012
ANNUAL
STUFF THE STOCKING
Now Through Dec 10th
We will be collecting New Items to stuff these awesome stockings
Stockings will benefit
Hospital pediatric patients (0- young adult), to bring smiles to children who have to spend the holidays in the hospital... Last year we delivered stocking to the Cystic Fibrosis patients that were in inpatient at Baptist Medical Center and Childrens Hospital, and we were able to provide a stocking to ALL the children battling varies Cancers last year at the Childrens Hospital in OKC.
ALSO
Children (0- young adult) living in our local communities who have been diagnosed with a chronic or life threatening illness, and there siblings. Families who care for a child with special needs are often faced with enormous financial hardships due to traveling to appointments, medications, treatments, and co-pays.. We want to assist these families this season by providing stocking for there child, and we want to also include their siblings living in the home... Siblings are ANGELS who play a HUGE role in helping and supporting their brother or sister, encouraging them through treatments... If you know of a child in the hospital, or a family within the surrounding communities that would benefit from Stuff the Stocking please have them contact us through this site, on facebook or email us at lovin_lane@yahoo.com

Touched by Angels ~ our life has lead us down a path that we have been blessed to know so many young fighters that have truly touched our hearts as we have watched them fight for the basics in life... prior to my son's diagnosis I must confess I had little understanding of the many warriors among us... Since my son's diagnosis with CF we have been exposed to a completely different world... We have met so many young fighters not only fighting CF but Cancer as well as other life-threatening illnesses. With all of our support groups we have joined, blogging friends, fellow CF families, we have been blessed to met hundreds and hundreds of families that carry these battles everyday... They have always been there, their battles have been ongoing all these years, I was just oblivious to it..
Obvious to a world full of fight, courage, strength, hope, tears, inspiration, triumphs, MIRACLES and sadly LOSS... My soul has been touched by so many amazing warriors, and at times I have had to remove my self from some of it, because the loss has been so great that my heart just couldn't handle it another day, another sweet angel losing their courageous battle, another family grieving the loss of their child... But God guides me back to my boots and I put them back on and go on to fight another day... Because it is in the trenches that God has blessed me the most, it is in the trenches that God has opened my heart, given me hope and blessed me with MIRACLES... When I chose not to be obvious anymore it changed ME... I know have no doubt this is the path that God has put us on, whatever or where ever this path leads nobody knows, BUT this is exactly where he has chosen us to be.. To be entrenched with these families, to be touched by their lives and to continue to fight in the trenches allowing God to be our guide...
God has placed every single person in my life for a reason, some are to teach me, stregthen me, instill hope in me, inspire me, cry with me as well as laugh with me... I am so more appreciative of that now... It is so easy to crawl back into your home, into your immediate family and carry all our burdens alone, but that is not how God intended it, he has placed everyone in our lives with great purpose... and he placed GREAT PURPOSE in each of us as well, we may not know what that purpose is, but living with my eyes wide open and my heart listening I know I am that much closer to fulfilling it....
Each one of us has been given a purpose as well as passion, combine the two and what ever God has laid on your heart dont be obvious to it, follow it, chase it down, dont turn your back on it, whether God has laid it on your heart to help the homeless, support your military vets, mentor teens, what ever it may be God has put it in your life and laid on your heart, he has put it there on PURPOSE, not to break you, or harm you but to allow you to get in the trenches with him and receive all the blessings he wants to give you....

CF WARRIOR
I feel like lately I am at a loss, and as I try to continually to gather my self I just cant seem to keep up with all the changes life has held for us... I have tried so hard taking CF head on, putting my big girl boots on, battling another day for my Roo, not focusing on the negative but trying to embrace the positive... It is frustrating daily as you try your hardest to allow your son to do the things every other kid does knowing how much harder it is.. I am faced with his disease with EVERY pill he pops, that is 30 reminders everyday, I am faced with watching him do HOURS of being plugged into machines as he does endless breathing treatments and vest treatments... I watch him cough for hours on end every night after he plays baseball, wishing that just once JUST ONCE he could go home and CHILL like every other kid instead of having to hook him back up to machines, and load him up with more meds... A very lonely world as you desperately try to blend your child in with all the rest, yet making sure he eats those nachos during a game knowing he HAS to have the salt in order not to pass out on the field, or drinking and eating in front of his classmates, as you try to explain to people or defend yourself as your son looks so healthy on the outside, and many have no idea the ravaging disease that is slowly destroying him on the inside... Many care but dont really understand CF if they have never been around it and some others quite frankly dont care, yes that may sound cold but true.. Dont get me wrong we have an AMAZING group of supporters who love us and love lane and have been a huge source of hope and support for us along this journey, but sometimes it only takes one person to take you out emotionally... So as a parents you try you hardest to give him the every opportunity to fulfill his goals and dreams, yet are constantly worried about what affect each choice will have on him.... I am never able to escape the dark demon in my mind that reminds me of the the ticking time bomb that resides in my child, a thought that never ever EVER leaves a mothers mind, no matter how hard I try to think of the positive or redirect my attentions, I seldom am able to look at my son without knowing that and any moment things can change... I feel like I am constantly trying to pick and choose my battles as I am often just trying to survive what life unfolds. Constantly trying to nurture the entire family and not allow CF to take away from all our children. Trying to nurture relationships with friends and family when I often am stressed and just trying to make it through the next round. Trying constantly to just not be stressed is a battle all of its own... Battling myself to stay healthy, as the last year tested us once again with me having to battle cancer.... Sometimes it feels never ending.. The one thing I have tried very hard to do is keep us with our other CF warriors and their families as they continue to fight this unforgiving disease, and today I couldnt do that, as I started to read about one of our dear families I just couldnt do it, tears rolling and my heart heavy I just couldnt do it.. and I didnt, I just logged out and walked away.. Not because I dont love them, Not because I dont weep for them, but because my heart cannot take it today, it is such an unfair world...We love all our family and sometimes the mind just cannot take another sick child, another broken mother, another CFer lost to this battle and it just broke me today... AND it quickly reminds me that we I need to make sure I am positive, caring, continue to try my best to nurture life and ALL the people in it. Many are battling something, some may be battling nothing, but everyone is worthy of love, in the end that is ALL YOU HAVE...
Where did 2012 Go....
It seems like we have not updated in awhile, mainly because I guess we have just been settling into alot of new this last year Kickin CFs Bum, Surviving Cancer, High School Graduations, Military Graduation, Children growing, Baseball Playing and lots of family lovin...
I am soooo happy to report that I completed my chemo spent alot of time healing and am doing GREAT!!! Still have to go in for regular scopes as my cancer was aggressive and has a high rate of return, although the cancer and treatments have left me with alot of residual issues and other diagnosis's to deal with, I am ALIVE and God has blessed us with my healing and we couldn't be more grateful for my health...
Lane has had alot of changes in this year and we are taking alot of time to work through some of the different things that have come up, as well as wrapping my head around some of the news... He contacted a super bug last year about he same time I was undergoing treatment so we have been treating that.. It is a determined little bug and so Lane has had to stay on antibiotics all the time now taking bactrim and zithromax year round, so that is a little disheartening, nobody wants their child to be on this much antibiotics all the time, but its doable and for the most part is keeping the super bug at bay... Recently his system seems to be attacked again lowering his lung function and O2 so we turned it up a notch with some high dose powerful Zyvox (antibiotic) to put that nasty little super bug back in its place.... He has had a terrible start to the 3rd grade between catching some bugs that took him out and dealing with alot of digestion issues along with DIOS he has had to miss alot of school and has spent alot of days just feeling miserable... We are working hard at getting him lined out so he can enjoy the rest of the 3rd grade... and hopefully I can get caught up on blogging, which in the past has been so therapeutic for me... So the recap of 2012 begins....
